Time Team: This Time Team Special was first screened to mark the 90th anniversary of the end of World War One. It follows the excavation of a large dugout, 14 metres beneath the surface of a corn field near Ypres, which was constructed on land captured from the Germans in the 1917 offensive to provide respite from the endless shelling that turned the surface into a hellish landscape of devastation and mud.
